BombProof Transmissions

Bombproof transmissions are the premier product at SuperShafty.com. We, at SuperShafty, wanted to briefly explain what goes into each one, and how this transmission will last the lifetime of your truck.  Bombproof transmissions were first offered to the public in 2010 following a demand for unbreakable parts. The process of building a bombproof transmission starts with selecting the best parts offered. The transmissions cases are Vanquish Products SCX10 transmission housings and Hot Racing for the Axial Wraith transmissions. Vanquish cases come in a variety of colors including red, black, silver, blue, and orange. Hot Racing cases are only available in black, but we make custom runs of colors from time to time for customers if interested in something that will really stand out. Next up we select some of the best aftermarket steel gears available from Hot Racing. These gear sets have been around about as long as the Axial rock crawler itself. They are time tested, and proven in thousands of bombproof transmissions. SuperShafty uses its own proprietary Beefy Top Shaft to replace the stock top shaft. The Top Shaft allows us to install the Robinson Racing Traxxas Slash 56tooth steel slipper, a much stiffer slipper spring, and use a 5mm nut to hold it all in place. The last piece is the Beefy Motor Plate. This was designed to mount from the front of the plate, and attach using nuts on the back side of the case.

Now, the most common question we hear at SuperShafty is always “What makes worth it?”. The best answer is that these transmissions will last the life of your truck, if not outlive it. At events and races I have customers come to the booth just to show me the bombproof transmission they bought over 5 years ago.  It has probably been moved into at least 5 different trucks since they bought it, but it is the one part they always kept, and never had to worry about replacing. They run them through mud, in creeks, in snow and the desert and they just keep going. The confidence that these guys have in what could be considered the most important part of the driveline what drive SuperShafty to keep producing quality products.
